M&A is pleased to announce that Derrik Williams, principal hydrogeologist in the Paso Robles office, will present at the Sustainable Groundwater Planning in California conference in Sacramento July 25-26. Hosted by Law Seminars International, this event will discuss current legal, technical, business, and regulatory information for preparing Groundwater Sustainability Plans.

Derrik will present during a session called “Using Computer Models to Determine Sustainable Yield and to Assess Recharge Projects and Other Management Actions for GSPs.” This session will address what a model is and its role in SGMA implementation; what should matter most to stakeholders; how to review a model and its inputs; and workarounds for dealing with the absence of key data. Derrik’s presentation is on cross-boundary flows and basin coordination.

Other presenters include representatives from California’s DWR and Water Control Board, various water districts in California, and the Environmental Defense Fund, to name a few. For more information about the conference, please contact Derrik.
