Montgomery & Associates (M&A) is pleased to announce that the winner of the $2,000 Montgomery Prize for Best Oral Presentation at El Día de Agua y la Atmosfera symposium is Garrett Rapp. His presentation is titled “Sensitivity of Simulated Mountain-Block Hydrology to Subsurface Conceptualization.” El Día de Agua y la Atmosfera is one of five symposia held annually during Earth Week and is organized by students from the University of Arizona Department of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences. Rapp is currently finishing his master’s degree in hydrology at the University of Arizona. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Virginia and previously worked as an engineer for a water resources consulting firm in California. His experience and interests include hydrologic modeling, managed aquifer recharge, and groundwater management and policy. Read Rapp’s abstract here.
Tiffani Cañez, a hydrogeologist at M&A who is currently pursuing a master’s degree from University of Arizona, also presented at the symposium. Her presentation is titled “PFAS in Groundwater at a Reclaimed Water Recharge Facility.”
