Lisa Porta, a senior water resources engineer at M&A, joined the Groundwater Resources Association of California (GRA) Board of Directors in January 2019. Ms. Porta has more than a decade of experience with groundwater resources management in California and the Western United States.
A member of GRA since 2011, Ms. Porta has been quite active with the Sacramento Branch, attending monthly meetings and networking with peers. She has served on many planning committees for GRA events, and has moderated technical sessions at SGMA workshops and the inaugural Western Groundwater Congress. She is the current chair of the Technical Committee and serves on the Planning Committee for the Second Annual Western Groundwater Congress to be held in Sacramento in September 2019.
“I believe in GRA’s vision and mission. With my experience in surface water engineering and groundwater management projects, I can offer a different perspective on the overall management of water resources in the state,” Ms. Porta said.
Ms. Porta brings diverse leadership, communication, and organizational skills to GRA and would like to encourage the next generation of engineers and hydrologists to work on water resources management challenges, particularly in the area of groundwater resources.
