M&A’s branch office in Lima, Perú, recently added four hydrogeologists to its staff after winning several new projects. Two of these projects are for Antamina, a company that operates Perú’s largest copper mine, located at an elevation of about 4,300 meters (14,100 feet) in the Andes. M&A staff will oversee the installation of monitoring wells, dewatering wells, and piezometers at the mine. Another project will entail supervising the installation of a water supply well at Huarmey, the port city from which Antamina’s concentrates are shipped. We will also start work on another water supply project in Piura, Perú.
M&A’s Lima office is managed by Stephen Smith, a hydrogeologist with over 40 years of experience. We opened this branch office in 2011.
