Two of M&A’s professional staff members located in Los Angeles County have recently begun serving the Southern California Branch of the California Groundwater Resources Association (GRA) in volunteer leadership positions: Patrick Wickham, P.G., as Vice President and Trevor Pontifex as Technical Advisor. These roles will offer valuable exposure and leadership experience for our Southern California team and continue M&A’s support of GRA.

M&A is a GRA corporate sponsor and its professionals are actively involved in committees, contribute to articles in the HydroVisions Newsletter, and regularly chair, present at, and attend its events across California. Our involvement provides connections in the water resource industry and enables us to support groundwater education and student scholarships. One initiative we are proud to sponsor is the upcoming Water Careers Workshop, a student engagement event on April 8, hosted by the GRA-Southern California Branch, the Water Replenishment District, and the Southwest Membrane Operators Association. This event will allow students to interact with established water resource professionals and gain firsthand industry knowledge. Patrick will attend the workshop to address student questions, reach out to possible candidates, and build relationships with potential partners.

In addition to supporting existing projects—including groundwater modeling for the Carpinteria Basin Groundwater Sustainability Plan and hydrogeological analyses for the Antelope Valley-East Kern Water Agency—we look forward to expanding our hydrogeology work in Southern California through meaningful partnerships and collaborations.
