Montgomery & Associates (M&A) is a proud sponsor and participant of the Nevada Water Resources Association (NWRA) 2019 Annual Conference to be held in Reno January 28-31. The 2019 Mine Water Management Symposium will be held during the NWRA Annual Conference, and the following staff members from M&A will be involved:
- Colin Kikuchi, Ph.D., hydrologist from the Tucson office, will serve as a panelist for a session held on Monday, January 28, titled “Practical Uncertainty Analyses in Mining Hydrogeology.”
- Chris Cottingham, principal hydrogeologist and operations manager for the Utah and Nevada offices, will serve as moderator for two sessions on Tuesday, January 29, titled “Innovation from Outside Nevada.”
- Tim Bayley, Ph.D., principal hydrogeologist in the Tucson office, will serve as a panelist for one of these sessions moderated by Cottingham.
- Paul Pettit, senior mining hydrogeologist from M&A’s Nevada office, will serve as a panelist for an interactive luncheon and discussion held on Tuesday, January 29. The title of Pettit’s presentation is “Hydrogeologic Considerations of Pit Lakes with regards to Evaporation and Water Rights.”
The annual conference, which is geared toward water professionals throughout Nevada, takes a multi-disciplinary approach to discuss current and ongoing water issues. The goal of the conference is to provide water managers, policy makers, environmental representatives, federal and state agencies, private consultants, and the general public with a more comprehensive understanding of these issues.
