M&A professionals are gearing up for the second annual Western Groundwater Congress, hosted by the Groundwater Resources Association. Held in Sacramento, September 17-19, the conference will consist of three days of technical sessions and workshops through four concurrent tracks on SGMA, water resources, contaminants, and special topics such as agriculture and One Water.
M&A is a proud sponsor and participant of this event. Lisa Porta will moderate a session on statewide perspectives on groundwater management featuring speakers from Colorado, Arizona, Texas, and New Mexico. Mark Cross will present on managed aquifer recharge in Arizona, and Cameron Tana will present on climate change and Groundwater Sustainability Plans. Melissa Marshall of Present Your Science, known from her TED talk “Talk Nerdy to Me,” will kick off the WGC with a presentation on inspiring others through communication of science. Part technical conference (see agenda), and part collaboration and networking space, colleagues will learn about the latest groundwater industry trends while enjoying well-being activities, casino night, and social hours featuring local breweries. Workshops include hands-on learning about PFAs sampling, a stream gauging field trip, and communication and professional development. Or, get into the weeds with the first cannabis and groundwater nexus workshop. Visit www.grac.org/events/228 for more information.
