M&A is delighted to announce that Hugh Klein, a senior-level hydrogeologist with over two decades of experience, has joined our Denver office. A registered geologist in five states, two Canadian provinces, and three countries, Hugh has served on two National Ground Water Association task groups and on the board of directors for the Utah Ground Water Association (as a technical member). He is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists. His work with various consulting companies has taken him to the U.S., Canada, Afghanistan, Australia, and Africa.
Hugh’s career has focused on water supply development and management for mines and public entities. A major area of his expertise is managed aquifer recharge (MAR). He has been involved in various EPA Class I deep injection well projects in Florida associated with brine disposal from reverse-osmosis water treatment plants. Hugh has also provided hydrogeologic support for MAR projects at iron ore mines in western Australia, where reinjection of production water is required.
His new role at M&A office will include business development in the Denver basin and surrounding region.
Hugh has a bachelor’s degree in geology from Middlebury College, a master’s in surface water from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s in geology / hydrogeology from the University of Utah, where he focused on investigating groundwater age and mountain block recharge.
