Their talk is entitled “Land Subsidence in Arizona — Causes, Effects, and Risks.” Leslie, a Principal Hydrogeologist at M&A, will be addressing the technical aspects of land subsidence, including its occurrence, causes, and risks, as well how it is evaluated and predicted. Michele Van Quathem, an attorney and shareholder with Ryley, Carlock & Applewhite, will follow up with a brief presentation on the status of Arizona law regarding the potential legal liability for subsidence-related damage caused by humans. The luncheon will be held in the Karsten Golf Course Trophy Room at Arizona State University.
AWE is an informal networking group established by female environmental professionals two decades ago. Its membership comprises professionals from both public and private business sectors.
