Tucson Staff Delivers Holiday Cheer to Neighboring School

Each December, M&A employees in our Tucson office get together to donate grocery store gift cards and homemade cookies to 24 families at Holaway Elementary School, located next door to M&A. Scientific Illustrator Cynthia Stefan started the project more than 30 years ago, and Hydrochemist Leilani Bew took over organizing it soon after.

“This M&A holiday tradition holds a very special place in our hearts. It’s lovely to come together as an office family and be part of our greater community,” Bew said.

The recipients are chosen by Holaway staff and decorated boxes are delivered to them right before school lets out for holiday break.

Accounting Specialist Felicia Aalberg coordinated the cookie portion of the project.
