Montgomery & Associates says farewell to 3 longtime employees: Dennis Hall from the Phoenix office and Cynthia Stefan and Carole Kempe, both from the Tucson office.

Dennis Hall, Principal Hydrogeologist in the Phoenix office, has retired from M&A after 37 years. Dennis served as Phoenix Operations Manager until 2019. He also managed and provided senior technical oversight for numerous projects including well design, installation, and testing; assured water supply studies; and large-scale exploration programs. His work on environmental projects entailed designing remedial investigations and implementing remedial actions. He also supported energy sector clients to meet the requirements of Arizona’s Aquifer Protection Permits. Dennis was one of the original technical leaders at M&A and his expertise will be greatly missed.

Cynthia Stefan, Scientific Illustrator in the Tucson office, recently retired from M&A after 31 years. Cynthia prepared illustrations and schematics for all our publications. She began her work when everything was drafted painstakingly by hand and ended her impressive career as a professional in Adobe Illustrator, CAD, and GIS. She also supported marketing efforts and helped plan most of the company’s parties. Her warm, infectious spirit is already missed!

On March 31, M&A bids farewell to Carole Kempe, who is retiring after 23 years as an IT Specialist located in the Tucson office. Her tenure saw us go from floppy disks to cloud computing, and she is getting out just before AI replaces us all. Carole supported staff in all M&A office locations, patiently coaxing everyone to learn whatever latest technology was added to our network. She risked her own sanity to help the rest of us keep ours when the computers seemed to have minds of their own.

“We would like to thank Dennis, Cynthia, and Carole for their years of dedicated service,” said Hale Barter, President. “It’s hard to imagine M&A without them. Each of them represented the best of our team. Their friendship and dedication made M&A a special place to work.”

Congratulations, Dennis, Cynthia, and Carole. We wish them the very best in their next chapters.
