Tim is a Vice President at M&A, where he leads the firm’s technical assurance program. In that role he oversees the quality and defensibility of M&A’s work across the western United States, Chile, and Argentina. His background as a groundwater modeler shapes how he approaches complex sites: build a sound conceptual model, test it rigorously against field data, and carry it through to decisions that hold up to regulatory and stakeholder scrutiny. Particular technical interests of Tim’s include uncertainty analysis, decision making under uncertainty, saturated/unsaturated flow systems, and watershed management.

Tim has led major mining projects across the full range of mine water challenges, including site characterization, dewatering, water supply, tailings, permitting (NEPA, APP, etc.), stakeholder engagement, and monitoring and mitigation of impacts to groundwater. He integrates field investigations, geophysics, and numerical modeling to support mine planning, design, and permit approval for operations at every stage of development. Representative clients include Resolution Copper, Freeport McMoran, BHP, South32, and ASARCO. In addition to mining, Tim has supported a wide range of other clients throughout his career such as water districts, NGOs, and power companies.

As a senior leader at M&A, Tim is also involved in management of the firm’s professional staff and business operations.
