Water Conservation Planning & Support

This series of studies provided a framework for designing effective conservation measures for the City’s CII customers.

M&A has been helping Tucson Water’s Conservation Office implement a new conservation program for major CII customers.

This work has included various projects:

  • A pilot study to assess the impact of bead-technology clothes washers on water and energy demand
  • An analysis of patterns and trends in swimming pool removals to determine impacts on water demand
  • An assessment of options for pool removals and costs associated with maintaining unused backyard pools
  • The development of a cost-effective, reliable way to monitor inflows, outflows, overflows, and leaks from rebate-supported rainwater harvesting cisterns to determine if systems are properly sized and to assess how they are being used
