M&A contributes to GRA’s HydroVisions

Posted on by

Montgomery & Associates (M&A) is a proud contributor to the Spring 2020 issue of HydroVisions, the official publication of the Groundwater Resources Association of California (GRAC). “Groundwater Management in the West – Part 4: Arizona” is a feature article co-written by Juliet McKenna, P.G., principal hydrogeologist in Tucson, and Lisa Porta, P.E., senior water resources engineer in Sacramento.

The article provides an overview of the groundwater resources, management practices, and laws and regulations in Arizona. It discusses the state’s history of groundwater dependence, the implementation of the Groundwater Management Act (GMA) and establishment of Active Management Areas (AMAs), and the tribal lands and unregulated areas of Arizona. The article concludes with a comparison to California and its 2014 Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). Read the full story here.

Lisa and Bill DeBoer, P.G., C.Hg., senior hydrogeologist in Oakland, both serve on the board of directors of GRAC, an organization dedicated to resource management that protects and improves groundwater supply and quality through education and technical leadership. HydroVisions is circulated quarterly to more than 2,300 groundwater professionals and interested parties throughout California.
