\"TyLast November, we posted a story about M&A\u2019s sponsorship of the 2016 Henry Darcy Distinguished Lecture Series<\/a>. As part of the series, Ty Ferr\u00e9, Ph.D., a professor in the UA\u2019s Department of Hydrology & Water Resources, has been traveling the globe, presenting at universities, conferences, and other venues. His lecture, \u201cSeeing Things Differently: Rethinking Relationship between Data and Models,\u201d explores the intersection between digital models and the new methods that scientists are using to characterize the subsurface. He advocates for a more unified approach and outlines methods for combining models and measurements.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re pleased to announce that this July 29, Dr. Ferr\u00e9 will be presenting his Darcy lecture in Santiago de Chile. The event will be hosted by M&A International and the University of Talca. Details are presented below; the talk will be presented in English with simultaneous translation into Spanish. His lecture circuit covers 6 continents, 17 countries, and more than 80 cities. The series kickoff took place last January at M&A\u2019s Tucson office during a monthly meeting of the Arizona Hydrological Society.<\/p>\n

Administered by the National Ground Water Association, the series is named in honor of Henry Darcy of France for his 1856 investigations that established the physical basis for groundwater hydrogeology. Since 1986, the series has reached more than 85,000 students, faculty members, and professionals.<\/p>\n
