M&A ha apoyado este programa del Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n de Recursos H\u00eddricos de la UA (WRRC) desde 2008. Los pasantes trabajan aproximadamente 20 horas por semana durante 10 semanas entre mayo y agosto, por un estipendio de $3,000.<\/em><\/p>\n

Pasante de escritura de verano seleccionado<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"noah_headshot\"Se seleccion\u00f3 un ganador para la pasant\u00eda de escritura de verano 2016 de WRRC. El nuevo pasante, Noah Silber-Coats, es un Ph.D. estudiante de la Facultad de Geograf\u00eda y Desarrollo de la UA. Sus intereses de investigaci\u00f3n y comunicaci\u00f3n se centran en los conflictos de recursos naturales. Noah complet\u00f3 recientemente una tesis de maestr\u00eda que examin\u00f3 la pol\u00edtica del desarrollo hidroel\u00e9ctrico en Veracruz, M\u00e9xico. Su investigaci\u00f3n actual se basa en este trabajo para examinar los cambiantes paisajes energ\u00e9ticos de M\u00e9xico en el contexto de una mayor liberalizaci\u00f3n, planes para una expansi\u00f3n masiva de infraestructura y esfuerzos para cambiar a energ\u00edas renovables.<\/p>\n

Noah pasar\u00e1 el verano trabajando en el Cauce seco de un r\u00edo<\/em>, una publicaci\u00f3n que se dirige a una amplia audiencia (formuladores de pol\u00edticas, profesionales del agua y el p\u00fablico interesado) y se enfoca en un solo problema cr\u00edtico del agua en Arizona. Noah escribir\u00e1 sobre bancos de agua, recarga y recuperaci\u00f3n en el contexto de la gesti\u00f3n y planificaci\u00f3n de aguas subterr\u00e1neas de Arizona.<\/p>\n

Esta edici\u00f3n se enfoca en la reutilizaci\u00f3n del agua potable, un tema que se vuelve cada vez m\u00e1s importante a medida que crece la poblaci\u00f3n del estado y aumentan las demandas. Las aguas residuales son la \u00fanica fuente de agua que crece con la poblaci\u00f3n, y pueden tratarse seg\u00fan los est\u00e1ndares de agua potable.<\/p>\n

Esto\u00a0Cauce seco de un r\u00edo<\/em> resume los problemas de reutilizaci\u00f3n potable, incluidos los m\u00e9todos de tratamiento, la regulaci\u00f3n y los desaf\u00edos.
