Adem\u00e1s de brindar apoyo hidrogeol\u00f3gico para el cierre de minas y permisos, sus especialidades incluyen el desarrollo de suministros de agua, el dise\u00f1o de sistemas de drenaje y la investigaci\u00f3n de Superfund y otros sitios ambientales. Smith, un ge\u00f3logo profesional registrado en seis estados y ex miembro de la facultad de ASU, ha dirigido proyectos en todo el oeste de los EE. UU.
