{"id":11485,"date":"2023-11-06T09:28:34","date_gmt":"2023-11-06T16:28:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elmontgomery.com\/?p=11485"},"modified":"2025-04-18T16:05:35","modified_gmt":"2025-04-18T23:05:35","slug":"ma-scholarship-recipients-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elmontgomery.com\/es\/news\/ma-scholarship-recipients-announced\/","title":{"rendered":"Se anuncian los beneficiarios de las becas M&amp;A"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Felicitaciones a los beneficiarios de la beca inaugural Montgomery &amp; Associates (M&amp;A), ofrecida a estudiantes de la Universidad de Arizona que cursan estudios en el departamento de Hidrolog\u00eda y Ciencias Atmosf\u00e9ricas (HAS) o Geociencias.<\/p>\n<p>Emily Caylor, estudiante de doctorado en geociencias; H\u00e9ctor Venegas, estudiante de doctorado en hidrolog\u00eda; y Jonathan Hasenstab, estudiante de maestr\u00eda en hidrolog\u00eda, recibir\u00e1n cada uno aproximadamente $1.800 para el a\u00f1o acad\u00e9mico 2023-2024. Los estudiantes son nominados por profesores de sus respectivos departamentos y los destinatarios son elegidos por el Decano de la Facultad de Ciencias o una persona designada.<\/p>\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3n de posgrado de Emily, actualmente en su tercer cap\u00edtulo, implica el estudio de antiguas cuencas sedimentarias y monta\u00f1as para reconstruir la historia paleogeogr\u00e1fica y tect\u00f3nica del oeste de los Estados Unidos. Espera ense\u00f1ar en una universidad en el futuro.<\/p>\n<p>H\u00e9ctor, quien trabaja en M&amp;A como hidroge\u00f3logo, est\u00e1 cursando un doctorado. en hidrolog\u00eda y certificado de \u201cAgua en Operaciones Mineras y Estabilidad de Taludes\u201d. H\u00e9ctor se dedica a promover el conocimiento cient\u00edfico y encontrar soluciones pr\u00e1cticas a los desaf\u00edos ambientales mediante el uso de datos de teledetecci\u00f3n y algoritmos de aprendizaje autom\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan es un estudiante de \u00faltimo a\u00f1o que cursa una maestr\u00eda en hidrolog\u00eda y ciencias atmosf\u00e9ricas con \u00e9nfasis en recursos h\u00eddricos. Planea obtener su t\u00edtulo en 5 a\u00f1os a trav\u00e9s del Programa de Maestr\u00eda Acelerada de la universidad, despu\u00e9s de lo cual espera continuar trabajando con el Servicio Geol\u00f3gico de los Estados Unidos (USGS) o el Distrito de Control Regional del Condado de Pima.<\/p>\n<p>La beca M&amp;A se estableci\u00f3 para beneficiar a estudiantes de HAS y Geociencias. Los estudiantes de HAS deben tener un inter\u00e9s demostrado en las investigaciones en aguas subterr\u00e1neas; Los estudiantes de geociencias deben tener un inter\u00e9s demostrado en las investigaciones sobre las interacciones fluido-roca del subsuelo, incluida la caracterizaci\u00f3n, gesti\u00f3n y conservaci\u00f3n del agua subterr\u00e1nea relacionada con la miner\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>Hale Barter, presidente de M&amp;A y ex alumno de UArizona HAS, dijo: \u201cNos complace reconocer a estos destacados estudiantes de UArizona HAS y Geociencias en estudios de aguas subterr\u00e1neas.
