M&A gears up for the 2017 Mine Water Management Symposium

Posted on by

Staff from M&A’s Salt Lake City, Denver, and Tucson offices will be participating in the 2017 Mine Water Management Symposium hosted by the Nevada Water Resources Association (NWRA). The symposium is part of NWRA’s Annual Conference week, which will be held in Reno from February 13–17. This year’s event features a new session on lithium mining; other sessions will cover the topics of water management, pit lakes, and closure.

  • Hydrogeologist / Principal Jonathan Whittier will be presenting a talk entitled “Groundwater Modeling of Lithium Brine Deposits.” He will also serve as a panelist at the NWRA conference for a session on salinity in Nevada water, an emerging concern for arable lands, municipal water supplies, and aquatic habitats.
  • Chris Cottingham, our Salt Lake City Operations Manager, is a co-chair of the symposium and member of NWRA’s board of directors since 2012. He will be moderating a session on mine closure.
  • Daniel Weber (Denver Operations Manager) and Ben Jones will also be attending.

M&A is a Gold Sponsor and exhibitor for both the Annual Conference and the Mine Water Management Symposium. If you’re planning to be there, be sure to stop by our booth and say hello.
