Los Portales production well video features M&A staff

Sometimes finding a potable water supply is challenging. This is especially true in the arid coastal plain of northern Perú, where freshwater aquifers are sometimes sandwiched between brackish waters that have concentrations of total dissolved solids ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 ppm. M&A recently completed a project in such an area for Los Portales, a developer that is planning to build a housing project near Piura for a population of more than 30,000. Before hiring us, Los Portales had spent more than 1.5 million dollars on geophysical studies, exploration wells, and unsuccessful production wells.

Over a period of about 4 months, M&A developed a new water supply source for this project. Despite challenging conditions, we designed and tested a well that produces 1,100 gpm and meets all water quality standards for potable supply. This video documents our work on the well.
